Led a Visioning Engagement that included a 3.5 day interactive workshop in Miami with WFS Business and IT stakeholders, which was followed by a series of design sprints and user feedback sessions. The key objective of the initiative was to provide WFS with a UX design they could build in house.

  • Research: For six-weeks preceding the workshop, the team walked through demos of the existing content and applications, conducted interviews with 15 customers across Corporate Operations, Charter Operations, Pilots, and Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) and prepared straw-man personas and user journeys for use in the workshop.
  • Workshop: The session focused on understanding the needs of the Aviation Portal users and building empathy for WFS customer segments, generating ideas for the future of the portal. A critical objective of the session was to focus on the prioritization and prototyping of key functionality for the first release of the new portal (Minimum Viable Project) while building towards the future vision outlined during ideation.
  • Key Area Wireframing and Prototyping: In the two weeks following the workshop, the team synthesized the outputs of the workshop and refined the prototypes to create a set of key MVP wireframes aligned with the WFS Design Guidelines.
  • Detailed Wireframing and InVision Prototype - The initial prototype scope was later expanded to include additional functionality that aligned with a pilot-targeted iPad application. The portal UX was customized and tailored to the needs of responsive web, and updated for the needs of the different user base, primarily Operations.  The team created a full set of annotated wires and an interactive prototype.
  • User Feedback Sessions- The team conducted a series of user interviews to garner feedback while sharing a demo of the interactive prototype.  A report of recommendations that the WFS team could carry forward into design changes was the session output.
  • Screen Design- The UI team created an illustrative set of 3 high fidelity screen designs to show how the portal and the native iOS application might be related in look and feel while maintaining a separate overall user experience.
